A Bespoke Extension For A Growing Family

GLENTHAM, LINCOLNSHIRE

For this bespoke kitchen and dining project, our client’s vision was to create a seamless extension that honours the character of their period property while introducing a contemporary edge. The brief called for a clean, modern space that would serve as a functional hub for a growing family, without compromising on style or craftsmanship. We responded by designing an elegant palette of rich, textured wood finishes complemented by soft teal accents, ensuring that every material spoke to the warmth and heritage of the original home, while adding a fresh, modern layer. The round mirror with brass detailing and custom cabinetry lines not only reflect the natural light but also accentuate the symmetry and architectural flow of the space.

Functionality was at the heart of every design choice. Bespoke cabinetry was meticulously crafted to conceal ample storage, including a fully integrated wine fridge and state-of-the-art appliances, all framed within sculptural surfaces. The textured timber cabinetry juxtaposed with sleek mirrored splashbacks and subtle curves in the tiling details brought a soft rhythm to the kitchen, making it a space that feels luxurious yet entirely liveable. This project stands as a perfect example of how thoughtful design can blend heritage with contemporary living, creating a timeless, family-oriented environment tailored to modern lifestyles.

"For a growing family, it was essential that this extension not only provided the extra space they needed but felt like a natural continuation of their beautiful period home. By blending traditional craftsmanship with thoughtful modern design, we created a seamless canvas that allowed us to incorporate every detail the family envisioned — a space that feels both fresh and timeless."

Every detail in this project was carefully considered to ensure the new extension felt authentically connected to the original home. We selected materials with natural textures and introduced handcrafted elements that echo the property's period charm, while still embracing a contemporary language. The interplay of rich timber grains, soft upholstery, and reflective surfaces creates a sense of balance — allowing the space to feel both warm and inviting, yet clean and modern.
