Our Story
When Mel and I founded Chiselwood back in 1989, our dream was simple: to design and make kitchens and furniture that not only looked beautiful but worked seamlessly in everyday life. As keen cooks ourselves - and with my background as an engineer - we knew how important practicality was, but we also wanted our work to be different - to challenge convention, to bring fresh ideas, and to create furniture that made people smile every day.
Over the years, that ethos has guided everything we do. I believe true craftsmanship comes from balancing precision technology with the skill and care of human hands. It’s this combination that allows us to create designs that are both distinctive and enduring. Each project starts with a blank page, and the joy lies in shaping something completely bespoke for every client.
None of this would be possible without the incredible team we’ve built. I feel truly fortunate to work alongside such a talented, committed group of designers and makers. Their creativity, expertise, and attention to detail are what make Chiselwood unique, and together we continue to push boundaries and deliver work we’re proud of.
If you have a vision for your home and are looking for something truly unique and extraordinary, we’d love to discuss your ideas and visions in person very soon.
